MIDDLE EASTERN ARCHIVES ON THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

A seminar titled Middle Eastern Archives on the Armenian Genocide took place at the Noravank Foundation on April 10. 2015. Keynote was delivered by Dr. Vahram L. Shemmassian, Head of the Armenian Studies Program at the California State University, Northridge.

The speaker presented the results of his investigations in the Armenian archives of the Middle East. He noted that they not only contain a rich base material for research, but also have important applied significance at present. Dr. Shemmassian emphasized the importance of preserving and digitizing these archives. He also highlighted the merits of training qualified scientists to study the Armenian archives, especially in the context of the modern information and propaganda wars.

The presentation was followed by questions, answers and discussions.
