PANEL SESSION OF THE NORAVANK FOUNDATION RESEARCH COUNCIL

Panel session of the Noravank Foundation Research Council took place on July 12, 2016. The agenda included changes in the Council membership, 2016 semiannual reports of the Foundation’s Centers, Research Council and the Program for Ensuring the Activities.

V. Hovyan introduced the Research Council membership candidate M. Khalatyan, an expert at the Foundation’s Centre for Information Studies. A. Simavoryan, D. Galstyan, T. Karaughlanyan, A. Harutyunyan, and V. Aglyan presented the 2016 semiannual reports of the Centres for Armenian Studies, Information Studies, Education, and Publishing and Information Centre, respectively. The reports for the same period with regard to the Program for Ensuring the Activities and the Research Council and were presented by V. Hovyan and V. Vardanyan.

An intensive discussion ensued, during which G. Harutyunyan, K. Veranyan, T. Ghanalanyan, A. Simavoryan, A. Barseghyan, V. Atoyan, V. Hovyan, V. Aglyan, and A. Zhamakochyan posed questions, expressed opinions and made suggestions.

After the session J. Melikyan, R. Karapetyan, H. Gabrielyan and A. Barseghyan made presentations on foreign policy processes and development trends in the first half of 2016 in Georgia, Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan, respectively. The presentations were followed by active discussions and Q&A.
